Laconia------Mary A. Roy, 75, of 92 Emerald Drive, died at the Lakes Region General Hospital on Friday, July 20, 2007.

Mrs. Roy was born March 25, 1932 in Boston, Mass. the daughter of John D. and Julia (Kent) Mahoney. She had been a resident of Laconia for the past 17 years coming from Laurel, MD.

Mrs. Roy was a R.N. and had been employed at Mass Memorial Hospital in Boston for a number of years and was a member of the Nurses Alumnae Assoc. of the Mass Memorial Hospital.

She was an avid Square Dancer, card shark and an exceptional muffin maker.

Survivors include her husband, Robert L. Roy, of Laconia; a son Brain Roy of Raleigh, N.C.; 4 daughters Margaret Roy of Wilmington, Delaware, Noreen Cleary and Catherine Roy both of Westminster, Maryland, and Jennifer Roy of San Diego, California; 3 grandchildren Brandon Cleary, Ian Cleary and Cameron Roy; many nephews and nieces.

Calling hours will be held Wednesday July 25, 2007 from 2-4 and 7-9 PM at the Wilkinson-Beane Funeral Home 164 Pleasant Street Laconia, NH using the Carriage House entrance.

A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated in Sacred Heart Church, 291 Union Ave. Laconia Thursday July 26, 2007 at 11:00 AM. The Rev. Adrien Longchamps, pastor of the church will be the celebrant.

Burial will follow the Mass on Thursday at 1:00 PM at the New Hampshire State Veterans Cemetery, Boscawen.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Community Health & Hospice, Inc. 780 North Main Street, Laconia, NH 03246.
