Laconia-----Roger L. Morel, 54, of 602 Benton Drive, Briarcrest Estates, died at the Lakes Region General Hospital on Wednesday, June 25, 2003.
Mr. Morel was born November 23, 1948 in Laconia, NH, the son of Roger E. and Irene (Boissonneault) Morel. He served in the U. S. Army and lived most of his life in Laconia.
Mr. Morel was a computer programmer/analyst. He was an avid reader and enjoyed playing pool.
Mr. Morel was a member of the Central Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Pamela J. (Fugate) Morel of Laconia; a son, Michael L. Hoey, Sr. of Laconia; two daughters, Rebecca Bailey of Tilton and Jeanne E. Kresco and her husband, Kevin, of Laconia; his mother, Irene Chandronnait, of Laconia; his father, Roger E. Morel, of Gilford; seven grandchildren, Zechariah P. Kresco, Adam E. Kresco, Jacob D. Kresco and Jozef A. Kresco all of Laconia, NH; Michael L. Hoey, Jr., Matthew V. Hoey and Jordan Ortiz all of Tilton; two sisters, Susan Bowles and her husband, Myron, of Laconia and Diane Cardinal of Acworth; two brothers, Robert Morel and his wife, Judy, of Acworth and Steven Morel of New Hampton; and many aunts, uncles, cousins, nephews and nieces. He was predeceased by a sister, Debbie Morel in 1973.
Calling hours will be held on Saturday, June 28, 2003 from 4-6 PM and on Monday, June 30, 2003 from 10:30-11:30 AM in the Carriage House of the Wilkinson-Beane Funeral Home, 164 Pleasant Street, Laconia, NH.
A Funeral Service will follow the calling hour on Monday, June 30, 2003 at 11:30AM also at the Funeral Home.
Burial, with full military honors, will follow at 1:00 PM at the NH State Veterans Cemetery, Rte 3, Boscawen, NH.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the American Heart Association, PO Box 3049, Syracuse, NY 13220-3049 or to the Meals on Wheels Program, 17 Church Street, Laconia, NH 03246.
