Hazel D. Wilson

Laconia-----Hazel D. Wilson, 84, of 406 Court Street Apt 303 and formerly of 57 Union Avenue, Southgate Terrace, died at the St. Francis Home on Thursday, June 24, 2004.

Mrs. Wilson was born March 21, 1920 in Campton, NH, the daughter of James and Miney L. (Vose) Dempsey. She was a graduate of the Elliot Hospital School of Nursing in Manchester.  In 1955 she moved to Laconia and was a RN in Dr. Halfmann’s office for twenty-nine years before retiring in Feb. 1985. 

Mrs. Wilson was a member of the Laconia Graduate Nurses Association,  past president of the Manchester Jr. Women’s Club and past president of the Laconia Business & Professional Women’s Club.  She was a communicant of St. Joseph Church.

Survivors include one sister, Marie D. Towers of Concord, NH and several nephews and nieces.  In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by two sisters, Angie Currier and Louise D. Greenwood who died June 19, 2004.

There will be no calling hours.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Joseph Church, Laconia on Monday, June 28, 2004 at 10:00AM.  Rev. Gary Kosmowski, Pastor of the Church, will be the celebrant.

Burial will be in the family lot at St. Joseph Cemetery, Manchester, NH at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society, 30 Speen Street, Framingham, MA 01701 or to your own favorite charity.
