Laconia-----Millard “Doc” L. Blanchard, 76, of 65 Opechee Street, died Tuesday, June 22, 2004 at the Lakes Region General Hospital.
Mr. Blanchard was born April 5, 1928 in Lincoln, NH, the son of Lewis and Lillian (Bosworth) Blanchard. He graduated from Lincoln High School in 1946 and served in the U. S. Navy during WWII and the Korean War.
Mr. Blanchard retired from Metropolitan Life Insurance Company after thirty-eight years. He was an avid reader, crossword puzzle enthusiast and cribbage player.
Survivors include his wife of fifty-three years, Gladys ( Reese) Blanchard of Laconia; two daughters, Sandra Blanchard and Debra Carbone and twin grandsons, Connor and Casey Carbone all of Loudon, NH; one sister, Louise Gillis of North Woodstock, NH and several nephews and nieces. He was predeceased by a sister, Jean Nickerson, in June, 2003.
A Calling Hour will be held on Saturday, June 26, 2004 from 6:00-7:00 PM in the Carriage House of the Wilkinson-Beane Funeral Home, 164 Pleasant Street, Laconia, NH. A Memorial Service will follow the calling hour at 7:00 PM also at the Funeral Home.
Burial will be at a later date at the family lot in Riverside Cemetery, Lincoln, NH.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Lakes Region General Hospital, 80 Highland Street, Laconia, NH 03246.
