Laconia-----Christopher T. Downes, Jr., 74, of 34 Spruce Street, died at his home on Sunday, June 20, 2004.
Mr. Downes was born July 22, 1930 in Franklin, NH, the son of Grace E. (Tilton) and Christopher T. Downes, Sr. He was a member of the N. H. National Guard for eight years.
Mr. Downes was employed at Laconia Shoe for thirty years and he owned and operated Bi-More Realty in Laconia. He was a family man and enjoyed working with people especially in sales. He also enjoyed fishing.
Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law, Pamela G. and Bruce Fraser of Franklin, NH; a son, Christopher R. Downes, formerly of New Hampshire; three grandchildren, Christopher Welch of Florida and Heidi Fraser and Jason Fraser both of Franklin, NH; a brother, William Downes of Florida and several nephews and nieces. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by a brother and a sister.
There will be no calling hours.
A Funeral Service will be held at the Wilkinson-Beane Funeral, 164 Pleasant Street, Laconia, NH, using the Whipple Avenue entrance on Friday, June 25, 2004 at 11:00 AM.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the American Heart Association, PO Box 3049, Syracuse, NY 13220-3049.
