Agnes E. (Blackey) Lacroix McLellan Gilford----Agnes E. (Blackey) Lacroix McLellan, 83, of St. Petersburg, Florida and formerly of Ridgewood Avenue, Gilford died on May 24, 2009 at the Bon Secours-Maria Manor Nursing Home in St. Petersburg, Florida. Mrs. McLellan was born March 10, 1926 in Laconia, the daughter of Augustus J. and Sophie (Bernstone) Blackey. She was a lifelong resident of Laconia and was the former owner and operator of the Shore Diner, Inc. and the Captain’s Table before retiring in 1986. Mrs. McLellan was a member of the Dale Carnegie Speaking Organization, a member of the Winnipesaukee Power Squadron and was the first female member of the Lakes Region Toastmasters. She enjoyed scuba diving, bowling and flowers. Mrs. McLellan is survived by two daughters, Donna Lacroix Reidy of Lutz, Florida and Patricia Lacroix Bryant of New Hampton; two grandchildren, Jason W. Bryant of Moultonboro and Leslie J. Bryant of Holderness; three great grandchildren; a sister, Florence Hutchinson, of Roulette, Penn.; six nieces and two nephews. In addition to her parents and her two brothers, Albert and Carlton, Mrs. McLellan was predeceased by her first husband, Albert D. Lacroix, and by her second husband, G. Richard McLellan. A calling hour will be held on Tuesday, June 23, 2009 from 10:00-11:00am at the Wilkinson-Beane-Simoneau-Paquette Funeral Home, 164 Pleasant Street, Laconia, N. H. A Funeral Service will follow the calling hour at 11:00AM also at the Funeral Home. Burial will follow in the family lot in St. Lambert’s Cemetery, Laconia, N. H. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, 1 Bedford Farms Drive, Suite 105, Bedford, N.H. 03110.
