Gilford-------Wendell A. Boggs, 83, of Gilford New Hampshire, died at his home on Saturday, July 13, 2002.
Mr. Boggs was born on December 18, 1918 in Marlboro, Massachusetts, the son of Willard O. and Pearl E. (Shaw) Boggs.
Mr. Boggs had been a resident of the Lakes Region for over 40 years. Mr. Boggs had
Served as a Lieutenant in the U.S. Army during WWII.
Mr. Boggs graduated from Massachusetts College of Pharmacy and had been an owner of Butler Drug Inc., in Saugus, Massachusetts for 25 years, retiring in 1990. He was a member of the BDA (Boston Drug Association) and a 50-year member of the American Chemical Society.
Mr. Boggs was a member of Gilford Community Church and a former Trustee of the Lynnfield Center Congregational Church and a Trustee of the Cliftondale Methodist Church.
He was awarded the Chevalier as a Master Counselor of DeMolay. A DeMolay Dad of Lynnfield being awarded Top Hat. He was a lifelong member of the Lynnfield Lodge, a member of the Scottish Rite, Aleppo Shrine of Wilmanton, Massachusetts.
Survivor&Mac226;s included his wife Helen G. (Houghton) Boggs of Gilford; three sons, Wendell A. Boggs II and his wife Carol Boggs of Peabody Massachusetts, Jeffrey H. Boggs of Danvers Massachusetts and Gary D. Boggs and his wife Cynthia Boggs of Derry New Hampshire; four grandchildren and a niece. He was predeceased by a brother John E. Boggs.
There are no calling hours.
Services will be held at the Gilford Community Church, 19 Potter Hill Road, Gilford on Tuesday, July 16, 2002 at 2:00 PM. Burial will be in Lakeview Cemetery, Commonwealth Road, Route 30 in Wayland Massachusetts on Wednesday at 2:00 PM.
Wilkinson-Beane Funeral Home, 164 Pleasant Street in Laconia New Hampshire is in charge of arrangements.
