Gilmanton Iron Works----Mrs. Laura E. French, 81, died Tuesday, March 9, 2004 at the Goldenview Health Care Center, Meredith, NH.

Mrs. French was born December 6, 1922 in Gilmanton, NH the daughter of Frank S. & Helen (Wyatt) Page and was a life long resident of Gilmanton. She was a member of the Gilmanton Community Church.

Mrs. French was employed at Blue Cross & Blue Shield for a number of years and was a seamstress.

Survivors include two sons, Ivo S. French of Laconia, NH and Buzzie B. French of Gilmanton, NH; a daughter, Penny Hope St. Cyr of Gilford, NH; ten grandchildren; a brother, George O. Page, of Gilmanton, NH; two sisters, Ethel Cushing of Franklin, NH and Evelyn Uhlenberg of Massachusetts; and several nephews and nieces. She was predeceased by her husband, William C. S. "Buzzie" French, Jr. in 1999.

There will be no calling hours.

A Memorial Service will be held in the Carriage House of the Wilkinson-Beane Funeral Home, 164 Pleasant Street, Laconia, NH on Saturday, March 13, 2004 at 3:00 PM. Rev. Linda Bolton, pastor of the Gilmanton Community Church, will officiate. Burial will be held at a later date in the family lot at Smith Meeting House Cemetery, Gilmanton.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Gilmanton Community Church, PO Box 6, Gilmanton Iron Works, NH 03837 or to the charity of one's choice.
