Laconia-----Mrs. Elaine C. Grant, 80, of 64A Davis Place, died at the Lakes Region General Hospital on Wednesday, March 3, 2004.
Mrs. Grant was born August 17, 1923 in Laconia, NH, the daughter of Oley and Gladys (Mansfield) Arnold.
Mrs. Grant was a life long resident of Laconia and graduated from Laconia High School in 1942. She was employed at Vernitron for many years.
Mrs. Grant was a former member of the Sweet Adelines and was a Cub Scout Den Mother. She liked to collect post cards of covered bridges and old pictures of Laconia. For a number of years she did cake decorating.
Survivors include a son, Michael Grant, of Laconia; a brother, Herbert Arnold of Laconia; and two sisters, Evelyn Owens of Concord and Barbara Maheux and her husband, Armand, of Laconia; two nieces; five nephews and several great nieces and great nephews.
There will be no calling hours.
A Memorial Service will be held on Monday, March 8, 2004 at 10:00AM at St. James Episcopal Church, 876 North Main Street, Laconia, NH. Rev. Jonathan MacKenzie, Rector of the Church, will officiate.
Spring burial will be in the family lot at Bayside Cemetery, Laconia, NH.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St. James Episcopal Church, 876 No. Main Street, Laconia, NH 03246.
