Laconia, NH-------Amelia Onofrio of 6 Taylor Home Drive Laconia, NH went to sleep in the Lord peacefully at Lakes Region General Hospital on Friday March 5, 2004. She was 91 years old.
She was the daughter of Maria and Howard West of Hamden, CT. She graduated from the Hamden public schools and Larson and Stone Colleges and retired from the Southern New England Telephone Company after twenty years of service as supervisor of data processing.
The widow of Louis Onofrio, she was steadfast in her devotion to her young sons Donald and Robert who survive her. Also surviving are Roberts' wife Emily, Virginia Anderson sister, Howard Anderson brother-in-law, and sisters-in-law Jennie Onofrio, Mary Cotton and Margurite Anderson, five nephews, three nieces and many friends who loved her.
An avid reader, she was independent and self-reliant, had a great sense of humor and was always thoughtful of others. She was a communicant of St. James Episcopal Church. She was fond of people, young children, furry four-legged pets and rainy days.
There are no calling hours.
A Memorial Service will be held in the Spring.
