Green Valley, Arizona----Paul E. Swenson, 64, of 1003 East Cave Canyon Pl., Green Valley, AZ and formerly of Laconia and Gilford, NH died at home peacefully on Saturday, March 27, 2004, after a courageous battle with cancer.

Mr. Swenson was born in Laconia, NH on October 22, 1939, the son of Paul and Annie (Emery) Swenson.

Mr. Swenson was a long time resident of Laconia and Gilford, NH and was a graduate of Laconia High School, Class of 1957. He was employed by Pike Industries, Inc. for 38 years. He was an integral part of the Company's growth until his retirement in 2001, and served as its Chief Financial Officer for most of those years.

Mr. Swenson was very involved in the Lakes Region and New Hampshire State affairs, including Director of the Wolfeboro National Bank, Wolfeboro, NH, Director of New Hampshire Fish and Game Commission, Commissioner of Laconia Water Works, member of the Gilford Budget Committee, as well as a member of many local hunting and fishing clubs.

Mr. Swenson was a former President and a life long member of the Laconia Country Club where he was an outstanding golfer, winning many local and statewide tournaments. He was also an avid bird hunter, and was never without a hunting dog, especially German Shorthairs. He also spent much time on streams and lakes as a skilled fly fisherman. He loved to travel, explore and try new things; however, his greatest love was his family.

Survivors include his loving and caring wife of 37 years, Pamela (Homer) Swenson, of Green Valley, Arizona as well as daughter, Stacey Swenson, and grandchildren, Isabella and Jack, all of Carlsbad, California, and daughter, Erica Grant, and a son, Grant Swenson, both of Laconia, NH. He also leaves two sisters, Barbara Howland, of Clearwater, Florida, and Mary Colburn of Laconia, NH as well as many nieces and nephews.

Calling hours will be held in the Carriage House of the Wilkinson-Beane Funeral Home, 164 Pleasant Street, Laconia, NH on Friday, April 2, 2004 from 1:30PM to 4:00PM and 6:30PM to 9:00P.M.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St Joseph Church, 30 Church Street, Laconia, NH on Saturday, April 3, 2004 at 10:00 A.M. Rev. Gary Kosmowski, Pastor of the church, will be the celebrant.

Burial will follow in the family lot at the Meredith Village Cemetery, Meredith, NH.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Mr. Swenson's name to the St. Vincent De-Paul Society, 1269 Union Ave, Laconia, NH 03246 or Lung Cancer Research, Norris Cotton Cancer Center, One Medical Center Drive, Lebanon, NH 03756.
