Gilford-----Regina L. Dion, 89, of 28 Hook Road, died March 9, 2005 at the Lakes Region General Hospital, Laconia. Mrs. Dion was the widow of Roland J. Dion who died in 1994. She had been a resident of the Belknap County Nursing Home for the past three years.
Mrs. Dion was born October 20, 1915 in Ashburnham, MA., the daughter of the late Albert and Mary (Finn) Lashua. She was a longtime resident of the Lakes Region and moved to Gilford in 1960. She was owner and operator of the Wilton Diner, Wilton, NH for six years and was also employed at Cormier Hosiery Mill, Laconia for many years.
Mrs. Dion was a communicant of St. Joseph Church, Laconia, NH.
Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law, Linda D. and Don Ames, of Gilford, NH; a granddaughter, Jennifer Becker, and her husband, Dale, and three great grandchildren, Joseph Becker, Daniel Becker and Katie Becker all of Cincinnati, Ohio; a brother, Clifford Vose, of North Carolina and nephews and nieces. She will be missed by her family and friends and by those who cared for her.
Calling hours will be held on Sunday, March 13, 2005 from 6:00-8:00PM in the Carriage House of the Wilkinson-Beane Funeral Home, 164 Pleasant Street, Laconia, NH.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Joseph Church, 30 Church Street, Laconia, NH on Monday, March 14, 2005 at 10:00AM. Rev. Gary Kosmowski, Pastor of the church, will celebrate. Spring burial will be in the family lot in Pine Grove Cemetery, Gilford, NH.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Community Health & Hospice, Inc., 780 North Main Street, Laconia, NH 03246.
