Gilford-----Sylvia L. McIsaac, 72, of Gilford, died at the Belknap County Nursing Home, Laconia on Wednesday, March 16, 2005. She was the widow of John "Jack" A. McIsaac, Jr. who died in 1990.
Mrs. McIsaac was born October 10, 1932 in Littleton, NH, the daughter of Atty. William and Marion ( Tuttle) Lehnert. She was raised in Groveton, NH and graduated from Groveton High School in 1950. In 1954, she graduated from the University of New Hampshire where she was a member of the Chi Omego Sorority. She moved to the Lakes Region in 1954 and was employed as a social worker for the State of New Hampshire, Health & Human Services, for five years. She also was employed as an interviewer for the U. S. Census. In 1959, she retired to become a full time mother and homemaker.
She enjoyed swimming and loved music and enjoyed all of the music throughout the Lakes Region. She was a member of the Sweet Adelines and also sang in a quartet. She was a member of the Road Run's Club and a former member of the Laconia Athletic & Swim Club.
Mrs. McIsaac was a member of the Laconia Congregational Church.
Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law, Diane McIsaac Townsend and David Townsend of Northfield, NH; a son, David J. McIsaac of Fairbanks, Alaska and two grandchildren, Olivia McIsaac and Alexandra McIsaac.
There will be no calling hours.
A Memorial Service will be held in the Carriage House of the Wilkinson-Beane Funeral Home, 164 Pleasant Street, Laconia, NH at a later date. Time and date will be announced. Burial will be in Northumberland at a later date.
