Belmont-----Griffin L. Tuttle 75 of 439 Province Road, Belmont died Friday March 20, 2009 at the VA Medical Center, Manchester.

Griffin was born May 17, 1933 in Bellow Falls, VT., son of Flint L. and Ruth (Maiden-Kemp) Tuttle. He had been a resident of Belmont for the past 50 years coming from Wentworth, NH.

Griffin served in the Army during the Korean War. He had been employed as a supervisor at Allen-Rogers for 40 years retiring in 1995. He was a member of the South Baptist Church in Laconia and had served as a trustee.

Griffin was an avid wood worker. He built his home and also his son’s home. He made many pieces of furniture. He enjoyed fishing and gardening.

Survivors include his wife of 51 years Hazel Mae (Delsart) Tuttle of Belmont; a son Scott Tuttle and his wife Jo-Ann of Gilmanton; a daughter Robin Wixson and her husband William of Belmont; 4 grandchildren Flint, Troy, Winona and Luke Wixson all of Belmont; his brother Thomas Tuttle of Perris, CA.; 3 sisters Priscilla Morrison of Wentworth, NH, Lois Jean King of Barstow, CA. and Audrey Blackwell of Bogalusa, LA; 8 nephews and 8 nieces. He was predeceased by his parents and a beloved Aunt Marcia and Uncle Win.

There are no calling hours.

A Graveside service will be held on Thursday March 26, 2009 at 10:00 AM at the NH State Veterans Cemetery, 110 Daniel Webster Highway Rte 3, Boscawen, NH. A memorial service will follow at the South Baptist Church 85 Court Street, Laconia at 11:30 AM. The Rev. Anthony Scalfani, pastor of the church will officiate.

In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made (For Take a Kid Fishing Program) C/O Belknap County Sportsman Assoc. POB ox 214, Laconia, NH 03247-0214.
