Belmont-------Elsie Margaret (Pond) Purington died March 16, 2009 at the Lakes Region General Hospital surrounded by family members.

She was born in Nashua, NH the daughter of Alvin and Marjorie Pond August 14, 1931. She graduated from Raymond High School and attended Keene State College. Elsie spent her working life as a bookkeeper, employed with several local firms including Stafford Oil Co. of Laconia.

She is survived by her husband of 59 years, Richard, four daughters: Donna-Jeanne Lechek and husband, Phillip, of Gettysburg, PA, Karlene McNamara and husband, Richard, of Belmont, Karen Purington of Scottsdale, AZ, Merry Smock and husband, Russell, of Belmont, one brother, Alvin Pond, of Salem, OR, two stepsisters: Frances Nichols and Louise Fontaine of Florida, one stepbrother, William Grace, of Allenstown, seven grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.

There will be no calling hours or funeral services.

Interment will be in Milford, NH at a later date.

Donations may be made to your local Visiting Nurse Association of your choice.
