Richard J. "Dick" Arsenault Laconia-----Richard J. “Dick” Arsenault, 75, of 96 Anthony Drive, died on Saturday, March 6, 2010. Mr. Arsenault was the widower of Sandra Ann (Pooler) Arsenault who died in 1993. Dick was born July 1, 1934 in Laconia, N.H., the son of Leo and Emma (Gagne) Arsenault. Dick served in the U. S. Navy. He was a lifelong resident of Laconia. He had been employed in the meat industry for over forty years as a meat cutter, manager and in sales. He worked at the First National Grocery Store on Union Avenue and then worked at the former I.G.A. and Butson’s (now Vista). He also worked as a groundskeeper for the Laconia Country Club. Dick was a member of the American Legion Wilkins-Smith Post #1 and a member of the Laconia Country Club. Dick enjoyed family, friends, golf and ice fishing, Survivors include two sons, Richard Arsenault, Jr. of Laconia and Gregory Arsenault of Acton, MA; a daughter, Sheila Stebbins, of Northglenn, CO; seven grandchildren, Matthew, Stephanie, Jessica, Nicholas, Nathan, Olivia and Amelia; one great grandchild; a brother, Lucien Arsenault, of Derry; a sister, Blanche Heney, of Laconia; five nephews and two nieces. In addition to his parents, Mr. Arsenault was predeceased by a brother, Donald Arsenault. Calling hours will be held on Wednesday, March 10, 2010, from 6-9pm in the Carriage House of the Wilkinson-Beane-Simoneau-Paquette Funeral Home, 164 Pleasant Street, Laconia, N. H. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Joseph Church, 30 Church Street, Laconia, N.H. on Thursday, March 11, 2010 at 10:00AM. Burial with military honors will follow in the family lot in Union Cemetery, Academy Street, Laconia, N.H. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Norris Cotton Cancer Center, Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center, One Medical Center Drive, Lebanon, NH 03756 Wilkinson-Beane-Simoneau-Paquette Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 164 Pleasant Street, Laconia, N.H. is in charge of the arrangements. |
