Dorothy "Dot" Pearl Labbe Dot was born in Berlin, New Hampshire on May 27, 1922 to Oscar D. and Lucetta Pearl (Archibald) Dion of Berlin, New Hampshire. Dot was a resident of the Lakes Region for 56 years, moving here in 1954 from Conway, N.H. After moving to Laconia, she worked for Lee’s Cut Rate, a retail establishment where she developed a passion for serving others. In future years, she spent time waiting on customers at the Busy Corner Store and, after retiring from Vernitron Corporation, finished her working career at Osco Drug Store in Gilford. Dot was known as a hard working woman who kept a spotless home and prided herself on serving others in greater need. She loved her family, her pets, dining out, golfing, crocheting and working. Always on the go, she would extend herself to helping others, making sure their basic needs were met. She is survived by her three children, Roland Robichaud and his wife, Gloria, of Sanbornton, Brenda Carter of Laconia and Alan Robichaud and his wife, Deborah, of Belmont, and her step son, Michael Labbe, and his wife, Sandy, of Loudon. Dot has 7 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren as well as numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husband, the late David Labbe, of Laconia, Dot was predeceased by three brothers and two sisters. Calling hours will be held on Monday, April 5, 2010 from 5:00-7:00PM in the Carriage House of the Wilkinson-Beane-Simoneau-Paquette Funeral Home, 164 Pleasant Street, Laconia, N.H. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Joseph Church, 30 Church Street, Laconia, N. H. on Tuesday, April 6, 2009 at 1:00PM. Burial will be at a later date in Union Cemetery, Laconia, N.H. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the NH Humane Society, PO Box 572, Laconia, NH 03247, in memory of Dorothy. Wilkinson-Beane-Simoneau-Paquette Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 164 Pleasant Street, Laconia is in charge of the arrangements. |
