Adrian "Jay" Boutin Ley, Jr.
Sanbornton-----Adrian “Jay” Boutin Ley, Jr., 62, of Sanbornton, passed away Thursday, March 18, 2010 after a long illness.
Jay was born on April 14, 1947 in Elizabeth, New Jersey, the only son of Christine (Warren) and Adrian B. Ley, Sr. The family moved to the Laconia area when Jay was five years old. He graduated from Laconia High School, class of 1965, and received a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from the University of New Hampshire in 1971. He also spent a year studying music at Berklee School Music in Boston.
Jay worked at Lakes Region Linen in his earlier years, was Plant Engineer at Allen-Rogers Corp. for twenty-two years and currently worked for ABC Fabricators in Laconia for over ten years, in charge of maintenance and environmental capacities.
Jay loved to play his saxophone and was in and out of rock’n roll bands over several years, most memorable “Annie & The Orphans”, the “T. D. Nickel Band” and the “Rusty Rockstar Roadshow.” He also had a fond interest for collecting and restoring old cars, particularly his 1947 MGTC. Jay also was very proud of his involvement with racing his “B” gas dragster at the New England Dragway. He was a former member of the Lakes Region Corvettes and the “Gathering of the Faithful” MG “T” Register.
He will be greatly missed by all. His wife of twenty-four years, Beth (Corriveau) Ley, of Sanbornton survives him; also some cousins from Maine and Florida and a host of friends and extended family and his beloved dog, Sophie. He was predeceased by his parents.
