Laconia, NH --- Raymond G. Chaplin, 93, formerly of Nashua, NH, died at the Belknap County Nursing Home on Tuesday, May 28, 2002 after a short illness.
Mr. Chaplin was born July 30, 1908 in Nashua, NH, the son of Ezra and Hattie (McLean) Chaplin. He was the last surviving child of eight children.
Mr. Chaplin graduated from Nashua High School in 1926 and from Brown University, Providence, RI, Class of 1930.
Mr. Chaplin had lived in Nashua, NH most of his life. He moved to Laconia in 1997. He had been employed by the Nashua Corporation for 46 years, retiring in 1973.
Mr. Chaplin was a member of The First Church of Nashua, NH; former vice moderator, chairman of the Church music committee, a choir member, and also chairman of the Prudential committee. He had also servered on the search committee. He was a 32nd Degree Mason and a Shriner and was president and board member of the Hunt Home in Nashua. He was a member of the Nashua Country Club. He enjoyed golf and bridge and traveled extensively.
Survivors include his wife, Joyce (Pooler) Chaplin of Laconia; a son, Raymond H. Chaplin of West Palm Beach, Florida; a daughter, Barbara Chaplin of Portland, Oregon; four grandsons; 5 great grandchildren; and two stepsons, Atty James Carroll, IV and John Carroll, both of Laconia; many nephews and nieces.

A Memorial Funeral service will be held on Monday, June 3, 2002 at 1:30 PM at the First Church, 1 Concord Street, Nashua, NH. The Rev. Dr. Jeffrey C. Evans, pastor of the church will officiate. A committal service will follow in the family lot in Edgewood Cemetery, Nashua, NH.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to ones favorite charity.
