Laconia, NH——-Mrs. Ruth H. Macauley, 93, of 54 Holman Street, Laconia, died at the St. Francis Home, Friday, May 3, 2002. She was the widow of Reginald H. Macauley who died in 1988.
Mrs. Macauley was born December 28, 1908 in Lowell, MA., the daughter of Horrace E. and Ida (Jackson) Harris. She had been a resident of Laconia since 1977 coming from Westford, MA.
Mrs. Macauley graduated from Lowell Normal School, Lowell, MA and taught in Contoocook, NH and later Chelmsford, MA. She was a member of the Retired Teachers Assoc. and also a member of the Laconia Women’s Club.
Survivors include a daughter Cynthia M. Colbath of Laconia; 2 grandsons Bruce S. Colbath, Jr. of Laconia and David J. Colbath of Sanbornton; 2 granddaughters and there husbands Kimberly and Michael Merck of Suwanee, GA, and Debra and Michael Droney of Northfield, NH; 7 great-grandchildren; several nephews and nieces. She was predeceased by a brother Charles Harris.
Calling hours will be held Tuesday May 7, 2002 from 6-8 PM in the Carriage House of the Wilkinson-Beane Funeral Home, 164 Pleasant Street, Laconia, NH.
A private graveside service will be held in Union Cemetery, Laconia.
In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the St. Francis Home Activities Fund, 406 Court Street, Laconia, NH 03246, or to Community Health & Hospice, Inc. 780 North Main Street, Laconia, NH 03246.
