Laconia——-Mildred V. McGonagle, 87, of 406 Court Street died at the St. Francis
Home on Thursday, May 16, 2002.
Mrs. McGonagle was born July 19, 1914 in Laconia, NH the daughter of William and Grace (Thurston) Chates. She was a long time resident of Laconia and graduated from Laconia High School in 1933. She was employed for many years as a bookkeeper at Dutile Oil Co. Following her retirement, she moved to Milton, NH for a number of years.
Survivors include two sons, Joseph T. and his wife, Norma Jean McGonagle of West Salem, Ohio; John W. and his wife, Sandra McGonagle of Gilford, NH; two daughters, Marjorie V. and her husband, Bernard Collins of Milton, NH, and Doris M. Millo of Topeka, Kansas; 14 grandchildren; 24 great grandchildren and several nephews and nieces.
Mrs. McGonagle was a communicant of St. Joseph Church. She was an active Grange member in her early years.
There will be no calling hours.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, May 20, 2002 at 9:30 AM at St. Joseph Church, Church Street, Laconia, NH. Rev. Gary Kosmowski, Pastor of the Church, will officiate.
Burial will follow in the family lot at Union Cemetery, Laconia.
Wilkinson-Beane Funeral Home, 164 Pleasant Street, Laconia, NH is in charge of the arrangements.
