George A. "Al" Davison, Sr.

Laconia-----George A. “Al” Davison, Sr. 86, of 5 Ledgecroft Place, died at the Lakes Region General Hospital on Saturday, May 15, 2004.  He was the widower of Bernice (MacArthur) Davison who died October 24, 2002.

Mr. Davison was born August 6, 1917 in Cambridge, MA, the son of George H. and Mary (Murphy) Davison. He served in the U. S. Navy during WWII. 

Mr. Davison lived in Arlington, MA for many years and was a printer for most of his life.  He worked for Riverside Press in Massachusetts and for many Boston newspapers.  In 1975, he moved to Laconia, NH.  He was a Mason and a member of the Amateur Radio Club of Laconia.

Mr. Davison was a member of the St. James Episcopal Church. 

Survivors include a son, George A. Davison, Jr. and his wife, Donna, of Laconia; five grandchildren, George A. Davison III and his wife, Gloria, of Nashua, Bethany A. Davison of Bradford, MA, Brett E. Morin and his wife, Crystal, of Arkansas, Daniel A. Morin and his wife, Andrea, of Laconia, and Martin J. Quinlan of Calabash, North Carolina; 7 great grandchildren and many dear friends. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by two daughters, Joan Quinlan in 1975 and Judith Morin in 1984.

Calling hours will be held on Tuesday May 18, 2004 from 2-4 and 7-9 PM using the Whipple Ave. entrance of the Wilkinson-Beane Funeral Home, 164 Pleasant Street, Laconia, NH.

A Funeral Service will be held at the St. James Episcopal Church, 876 North Main Street, Laconia on Wednesday May 19, 2004 at 10:00 AM.  Rev. Jonathan MacKenzie, Rector of the Church, will officiate.

Burial will follow in the family lot in Bayside Cemetery, Laconia.

In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the George A. Davison, Sr. Scholarship Fund C/O St. James Episcopal Church, 876 North Main Street, Laconia, NH 03246.
