Tuftonboro----Gudrun L. Hanington, 52, died Tuesday, April 27, 2004 at the Huggins Memorial Hospital in Wolfeboro after a long illness.
Gudrun was born in Glendale, CA on May 26, 1952, the daughter of Commander Al McFadden and Joan Marie McCabe McFadden.
Since her father was a career navy man, her childhood included many different locations in the world. She graduated from the American School in Manila, Philippines in 1969 and graduated from the University of Nevada with a major in Biology and two minors in Earth Science and Spanish.
Gudrun married Ward Hanington in 1979 and they lived in Washington State for the first part of their marriage before moving to Melvin Village in the late 80’s. She was a very active member of the Center Harbor Christian Church. Some of her activities included singing on the worship team, teaching Sunday School and hospitality.
Survivors include three daughters, Katryn Hanington, of Tuftonboro, Sarah Jo Hanington of Dallas, Texas and Deborah Hanington of Tuftonboro; her parents, Al and Marion McFadden, of Las Vegas, Nevada and her former husband, Ward Hanington, of Dallas, Texas. She was predeceased by her mother Joan McFadden.
There will be no calling hours.
A Memorial Service will be held at the Center Harbor Christian Church, 80 Bean Road, Center Harbor on Saturday June 5, 2004 at 4:00 PM.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Hanington Family Trust, PO Box 1324, Center Harbor, NH 03226.
