Boscawen-----Mrs. Marion L. Stafford, 96, a resident of the Merrimack County Nursing Home and formerly of Meredith Center Road, Meredith Center and Concord, died at the Concord Hospital, on Monday, May 3, 2004. Mrs. Stafford was the widow of Victor J. Stafford who died in 1988.
Mrs. Stafford was born October 27, 1907 in Melrose, MA the daughter of Elbridge R. & Mabel A. (Levia) Welch. She lived in Massachusetts before moving to Meredith Center over 70 years ago. She was the postmistress for Meredith Center for over twenty years and for many years she wrote articles for the Laconia Evening Citizen.
Mrs. Stafford was a member of the World Wide Church of God in Concord, NH and was a former member of the Grange.
Mrs. Stafford is survived by a sister, Alice Read, of Tucson, Arizona and several nephews and nieces. She was predeceased by two brothers, Leslie Welch and Robert Welch, and by two sisters, Edna Woods and Josephine Wright.
There will be no calling hours.
A Graveside Service will be held at the family lot in Oakland Cemetery, Meredith Center, NH on Tuesday, May 11, 2004 at 10AM.
