Gilford-----Franklin "Frank" S. Cook, Sr., 78, of Lake Shore Road, died at his home on Thursday, May 12, 2005. He was the widower of Jean Carol (Marino) Cook who died in 2003.
Mr. Cook was born May 22, 1926 in Boston, Mass., the son of Mr. & Mrs. Harold Cook. He served in the U. S. Army during WWII.
Mr. Cook was self-employed and was an antique boat and automobile collector. Frank will be remembered for his many passions; antique cars, boats and toys of all types, endless searches for treasure at yard sales and swap meets, Lake Winnipesaukee and its history. Lake Shore Park was also a huge part of his life. He was a charter member, served on the original board of directors and spent 77 of his 79 summers there. Most of all he will be remembered for the love of his life, his wife Jean with whom he shared 54 years.
Survivors include three sons, Gary F. Cook, Franklin S. Cook, Jr. and Randy H. Cook, all of Gilford, NH; six grandchildren; two great grandchildren and several nephews and nieces. In addition to his wife, he was predeceased by his sister, Jean Carr.
There will be no calling hours.
A Funeral Service will be held at the Gilford Community Church, Potter Hill Road, Gilford, NH on Wednesday, May 18, 2005 at 11:00AM. Rev. Michael Graham, Pastor of the Church, will officiate.
Burial will follow in the family lot in Pine Grove Cemetery, Gilford, NH.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to LRGH/Community Wellness Center, 876 North Main Street, Laconia, NH.
