Laconia, NH-----Stephen "Scottie" J. Edwards, Jr., 48, of 8 Charles Street, died suddenly at the Piedmont Medical Center in Rock Hill, South Carolina on Wednesday, May 11, 2005. Mr. Edwards was born July 16, 1956 in Plymouth, NH, the son of Georgia (Anderson) and Stephen J. Edwards, Sr.
Mr. Edwards was a life-long resident of Laconia. He graduated from Laconia High School in 1974 and from the New Hampshire Vocational Tech. in 1983. He served in the United States Coast Guard. Mr. Edwards was a self-employed inspector of Nuclear Power Plants for a number of years.
Mr. Edwards enjoyed yard work with his son, Ian, and also enjoyed sports and riding his motorcycle. He was a member of the American Legion Wilkins-Smith Post #1 and was a member of the Laconia Indian Historical Association.
Survivors include his wife, Virginia "Cindy" E. (Demers) Edwards, a son, Ian S. Edwards; his mother, Georgia Edwards; a sister, Heidi Edwards, and a niece, Jayme Dubreuil, all of Laconia.
Calling hours will be held on Monday, May 16, 2005, from 5:00-8:00PM in the Carriage House of the Wilkinson-Beane Funeral Home, 164 Pleasant Street, Laconia, NH.
A Graveside Service will be held on Tuesday, May 17, 2005 at 11:00AM at the New Hampshire State Veterans Cemetery, Boscawen, NH.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the L.I.H.A. Scholarship Fund c/o Janet Robinson, PO Box 98, Canterbury, NH 03224.
