Meredith, NH-----John F. Jones, Jr., 82, of 25 Dale Road, died at Goldenview Healthcare Center, Meredith on Sunday, May 1, 2005.
Mr. Jones was born December 4, 1922 in Melrose, MA, the son of Laura V. (Fone) and John F. Jones, Sr. Mr. Jones served in the U. S. Navy during WWII. He lived in Quincy and Rockland, MA for several years before moving to Meredith eighteen years ago. Mr. Jones was employed by Stride Rite for many years. He was a member of the Mason Lodge and was a ham radio operator. He enjoyed gardening and woodworking.
Survivors include his wife, Helen M. (Ivanauskas) Jones of Meredith; a son, William W. Witunsky of Rockland, MA; two daughters, Sharon A. Risso, of Carlisle, MA and Cheryl L. Jones of Brant Rock, MA; nine grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.
Calling hours will be held on Wednesday, May 4, 2005 from 4:00-7:00PM at the Wilkinson-Beane Funeral Home, 164 Pleasant Street, Laconia, NH, using the Whipple Avenue entrance.
A Graveside Service will be held on Thursday, May 5, 2005 at 1:00PM at the family lot in Blue Hill Cemetery, 700 West Street, Braintree, MA.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, NH Chapter, 10 Ferry Street, Suite 427B, Concord, NH 03301.
