West Franklin----A Graveside Service for Ernest W. Woods, 85, of Lawndale Avenue will be held on Saturday, May 6, 2006 at 2:00PM at the Franklin Cemetery, Franklin, NH. Mr. Woods died at the Lakes Region General Hospital, Laconia on Monday, February 6, 2006.
Mr. Woods was born August 4, 1920 in Newport, NH, the son of Arthur and Frances (Holt) Woods. He lived in the Newport/Claremont area for several years before moving to W. Franklin in 1954.
Mr. Woods served in the U. S. Army during WWII. He was a truck driver and mechanic for M.A. Crowley for many years and then was employed by the State of New Hampshire for twenty years, retiring in 1986.
Mr. Woods enjoyed fishing and rabbit hunting.
Survivors include his wife, Lois (Dearborn) Woods, of W. Franklin; a son and daughter-in-law, Daryl A. and Patty Woods, of Sanbornton; one granddaughter, Jennifer Woods, of Sanbornton; a sister, Helen Harrison, of Newport and several nephews and nieces in the Sunapee area.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Franklin Rescue Squad Memorial Fund, 59 W. Bow Street, Franklin, NH 03235.
