Stuart, Florida--Robert G. Morin, 82, died Monday, March 26, 2007, at The Manors of Hobe Sound. He was born in Laconia, N.H., the son of Ralph and Ethel (Gibson) Morin, and lived in Martin County for 19 years, coming from Agawan, Mass. He served in the Air Corps as a decorated aviation pilot. He worked for Monsanto in Springfield, Mass., as a chemical engineer and trouble shooter.
When Mr. Morin was five years old, he dug the first shovel full of dirt at the groundbreaking ceremony for St. Joseph’s Church, Laconia, NH.
Survivors include his wife of 19 years, Joann Helff Morin; two daughters, Roberta Morin Harnois of Springfield, Mass., and Deborah Morin King of Agawam, Mass.; four sons, Ralph Morin of Plymouth, N.H., Michael Morin of Gilford, N.H., Paul Morin of Feeding Hills, Mass., and William Morin of Laconia; stepdaughters, Lucy Picone of Palos Verdes, Calif., and Joann Picone of Jupiter; four stepsons, Richard Picone of Redondo Beach, Calif., Joseph Picone of Carmel, N.Y., John Picone and Robert Picone, both of Hastings-on Hudson, N.Y.; 20 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren and a brother, Frank Morin. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Lillian Morin, a daughter, Christine Morin, by his sister, Verna Morin.
A Memorial Mass of Christian Burial Mass will be celebrated at St. Joseph Church, 30 Church Street, Laconia, NH on Saturday, June 9, 2007 at 10:00AM. Rev. Gary J. Kosmowski, Pastor of the Church, will be the celebrant.
Burial will follow in Oakland Cemetery in Meredith Center, N.H.
