Meredith-----Perley V. Avery, 68, of 119 Meredith Center Road, died at the Lakes Region General Hospital, Laconia on Monday, May 14, 2007.
Mr. Avery was born October 8, 1938 in Rumney, New Hampshire, the son of Perley R. and Leona M. (Chase) Avery.
Mr. Avery served in the U. S. Army from 1961-1967. He was employed at Wickes Lumber in Meredith for thirty-six years before retiring in Dec. 2001.
Mr. Avery loved his family especially spending time with his grandchildren.
Survivors include his wife of forty-one years, Virginia M. (Brown) Avery, of Meredith; two sons, Fred Avery and his wife, Gloria, of Warren, NH and Scott Avery of Haverhill, NH; two grandchildren, Tyler Avery and Andrew Avery, both of Warren, NH; three sisters, Hazel Eckhart of Meredith Center, NH, Minnie Sorrel, Sandwich, NH and Phyllis Joyce of Concord, NH; several nephews and nieces and his dog, Molly. He was predeceased by his parents; a brother, Rainey Avery, and three sisters, Madeline Gee, Pearl Dickinson and Evelyn Avery.
There will be no calling hours.
A Memorial Service will be held on Monday, May 21, 2007 at 11:00AM at the Wilkinson-Beane Funeral Home, 164 Pleasant Street, Laconia, NH. Rev. Jack Ward will officiate
Burial will be at a later date at the New Hampshire State Veterans Cemetery in Boscawen, NH.
