Laconia-----Marie B. Darling, 85, formerly of 25 Union Avenue, died on Thursday, May 3, 2007 at the Belknap County Nursing Home where she been a resident for many years. 

Miss Darling was born March 23, 1922 in Lakeport.  She was raised by Richard and Maybelle (Tuttle) Darling and was a lifelong resident of Laconia/Lakeport.  She was employed at Sweaterville for ten years and was a house cleaner for many families in the Lakeport area.  While a resident of 25 Union Avenue, she would volunteer at the Belknap County Nursing Home.

Miss Darling enjoyed riding her moped, playing Bingo, attending the Leavitt Park Summer Carnival and riding the M.S. Mount Washington every Fourth of July.  She was every creative in all of her crocheting.

Miss Darling is survived by two nieces including, Betty E. Persons of Gilford, NH.  In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her brother, James E. Darling, Sr. and by her nephew, James E. Darling, Jr.

There will be no calling hours.

A Graveside Service will be held on Saturday, May 19, 2007 at 10:0AM at the family lot in Bayside Cemetery, Laconia, NH.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Lakeport Community Association c/o Wanda Tibbetts, 59 Elm Street, Lakeport, NH 03246.
