Harold B. Oldham

Tilton----Harold B. Oldham, 77, formerly of 51 Dartmouth Street of Laconia died at the New Hampshire Veteran's Home on Thursday, November 14, 2002. Mr. Oldham was the widower of Norma (Della Porta) Oldham who died in 1998. Mr. Oldham was born June 21, 1925 in Detroit, Michigan, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Harold B. Oldham.

Mr. Oldham served in the U.S. Navy during World War II and was a crewmember of LCI-G 68. He studied law at the LaSalle Institute of Law for three years. He had been a resident of Laconia since 1950 and employed as a chef at Lakes Region General Hospital, King&Mac226;s Grant Inn, St. Pierre&Mac226;s Restaurant, The Playhouse Inn and Ames Farm. As a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post # 1670 he served as Commander six times. He also served as Aide De Camp to the National Commander for three years. He was also a member of the Wilkins-Smith American Legion Post #1 where he was Commander twice.

Survivors include 3 sons and a daughter, Charles Oldham of Tempe, Arizona, Scott Edwards of Laconia, Arthur Chouinard of Austin, Texas and Mrs. Shelley Chisolm of Laconia. He is also survived by a brother, Ernie Davis of North Branch, Michigan and a sister, Ann Davis of Michigan; 7 grandchildren, Whitney Chouinard and Tyler Chouinard of Lawton, OK, Cynthia Oldham of Tempe, Arizona, Ian Edwards of Laconia, Briana Plume of Laconia, Amanda Oldham and Ashley Oldham both of Peyton, Colorado. Mr. Oldham was predeceased by a son, Harold B. Oldham III.

Memorial calling hours will be held on Friday, November 22, 2002 from 6-8PM at the Wilkinson-Beane Funeral Home, 164 Pleasant Street, Laconia, NH. A time of remembrance will follow the calling hours at 8 PM also at the funeral home. Mr. Oldham will have a military burial at sea in the Pacific Ocean.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the National Children's Cancer Society, 1015 Locust, Suite 600, St.Louis, MO 63101 as per Mr. Oldham's wishes.
