Belmont, NH-----Mrs. Dora "Dolly" L. MacEslin, RN, 87, of 9 Oak Drive, died at the Lakes Region General Hospital, Laconia, NH on Saturday, November 29, 2003. Mrs. MacEslin was the widow of Charles H. MacEslin who died in 1994.
Mrs. MacEslin was born April 16, 1916 in Laconia, NH, the daughter of Valere F. and Kilda M. (Fillion) Drouin. She graduated from the Laconia Hospital School of Nursing in 1939. She lived in Bridgewater, CT for a number of years and was a registered nurse at the Pratt Whitney Co, retiring in 1972 and moved to Belmont, NH nine years ago.
Mrs. MacEslin was a communicant of Saint Joseph Parish, Belmont, NH.
Mrs. MacEslin was a member of the Retired Nurses Association. She was a religious, outgoing and civic minded person and would volunteer and donated to the Missions and Food Kitchens in her community.
Mrs. MacEslin is survived by two daughters, Bonnie MacEslin and Kathie Gregory ; one grandchild; three sisters, Joan Shaw of Belmont, NH, Edith Wilbraham of Mentor, Ohio and Patricia Hollinghead of Madison, Ohio; three brothers, Leo Drouin, John Drouin and Laurent Drouin all of Belmont, NH; and many nephews and nieces. In addition to her husband, she was predeceased by a brother, Jack Drouin and by two sisters, Alice Laurent and Rita Flack.
There will be no calling hours.
A Memorial Service will be held at the Wilkinson-Beane Funeral Home in the Spring, 2004. Burial will be in the family lot in Sacred Heart Cemetery, Laconia, NH
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Drouin-MacEslin Scholarship established in July 1997 c/o Lakes Region Scholarship Foundation, PO Box 7312, Gilford, NH 03247-7312
