Laconia---Richard Allen Hurd, 68, of 255 Wellington Drive, Laconia, died at the Lakes Region General Hospital, Laconia, on Sunday, November 14, 2004.

Mr. Hurd was born July 17, 1936 in Laconia the son of Arthur E. and Gladys (Blackey) Hurd Sr. He had lived in Meredith for many years. He served in the US Army and also in the New Hampshire Army National Guard.

Mr. Hurd enjoyed camping, NASCAR and sports and especially his family and friends.

Survivors include his wife Margaret Rose (Beaton) Hurd of Laconia; a daughter Brenda Lee Grad of Meredith; 2 grandchildren Samual Grad of Meredith and Rebecca Shepard and her husband Josh of Laconia; a great grandchild Savannah Shepard of Laconia; 4 brothers and there wives Albert and Earnestine Hurd of Gilford, Doug and Kristen Hurd of Thornton, Arnold and Jackie Hurd of Meredith, Gerald and Anita Hurd of CT.; 3 sisters Shirley Crockett of Belmont, Betty and her husband Stanton Chamberlin of Gilford and Wanda and her husband James Brunt of Ashland; many nephews and nieces; sisters-in-law Mabel Knight of Old Orchard Beach, Maine, Judy and her husband Dwight Armstrong of Ossipee, NH, Judy Staubitz and Jo Klinghammer both of Meridith, Penny and her husband Larry Ridener of Alton and Paulee Hughes of Fla.; a brother-in-law John and his wife Beverly Hughes of Ashland.

Calling hours will be held on Wednesday, November 17, 2004 from 7-9 PM at the Wilkinson-Beane Funeral Home 164 Pleasant Street, Laconia using the Carriage House entrance.

There will be no funeral service.

In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the National Foundation for Transplants, In Honor of Florence Cilley, 1102 Brookfield Suite 200 Memphis TN 38119.
