Gilford-----Irene Nick McDonald, 83, of 5 Robindale Circle, died at the Lakes Region General Hospital, Laconia on Wednesday, November 17, 2004.
Mrs. McDonald was born June 28, 1921 in Ashland, N.H., the daughter of Ralph and Marion (Whitcher) Hinds. She graduated from Ashland High School in 1939 and had been a longtime resident of the Lakes Region. At the age of fifty, Mrs. McDonald returned to school and received her Associate Degree. She was a medical secretary for Dr. Leonard Slovack for fifteen years.
Mrs. McDonald was an accomplished pianist and music lover. She enjoyed golfing and cooking. Following her high school reunion in 1959, Mrs. McDonald became especially close to her high school classmates and looked forward to seeing all of your friends again at their annual reunions.
Survivors include a son, David Nick, of Gilford, NH; two grandchildren, Janice Nick of Manchester, NH and William D. Nick of Las Vegas, Nevada; two great grandchildren; a brother, Malcolm ?Duke? Hinds of Phoenix, Arizona; a sister-in-law, Mary Hinds, of Beacon Falls, CT and several nephews and nieces. She was predeceased by her first husband, Daniel Nick, in 1968; by her second husband, Francis McDonald, in 1977 and by a son, Daniel Nick, in 2002.
There will be no calling hours.
A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, December 4, 2004 at 11:00AM in the Carriage House of the
Wilkinson-Beane Funeral Home, 164 Pleasant Street, Laconia, NH.
Burial was held in the family lot at Union Cemetery, Laconia, NH.
