R. Frank Neal

Gilford-----R. Frank Neal, 77, of 30 Old Lakeshore Road, died at the Lakes Region General Hospital, Laconia on Wednesday, November 3, 2004. He was the widower of Barbara (McIsaac) Neal who died in 1999.

Mr. Neal was born April 14, 1927 in Laconia, NH, the son of Ralph D. and Gladys (White) Neal. He graduated from Laconia High School in 1945, attended Tilton Prep., Tilton, NH and graduated from Burdett College, Boston, MA. He served in the U. S. Navy during World War II. Mr. Neal was a life time resident of the Lakes Region.

He was a member and former trustee of the Laconia Congregational Church, a former member of the Laconia Kiwanis Club and an Incorporator of the Lakes Region General Hospital. From 1949-1969, Mr. Neal was employed at the Peoples National Bank and from 1969-1979 he was the office and sales manager at Lily Pond Home Sales. He was a realtor and broker and was owner of Reed Elwell Realtor until the business was sold in 1997.

Survivors include a son, Jon A. Neal, of Gilford, NH; a daughter, Janice A. Neal, of Kittery, Maine; a grandson, Seth T. Neal, of Laconia, NH and a brother, Dr. Ronald H. Neal, of Ludlow, VT. In addition to his wife and parents, he was predeceased by a son, Jeffrey S. Neal in 1984 and by a sister, Elisabeth Mayo.

There will be no calling hours.

A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, November 13, 2004 at 11:00 AM in the Carriage House of the Wilkinson-Beane Funeral Home, 164 Pleasant Street, Laconia, NH. Rev. David Travers, Senior Interim Pastor of the Laconia Congregational Church, will officiate.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to LRGH/Community Wellness Center, 876 North Main Street, Laconia, NH 03246 or Community Health & Hospice, Inc., 780 North Main Street, Laconia, NH 03246.
