Murray E. Gamblin

Laconia-----Murray E. Gamblin, 67, of 96 Grant Street, died at the Concord Hospital on Wednesday, November 18, 2009.

Murray was born February 9, 1942 in Caribou, Maine, the son of Ervin and Leversia (Anderson) Gamblin. He lived in Caribou until moving to Laconia in 1956.

Murray was an auto mechanic at Carignan Brothers. Inc. for many years and later at Jim’s Auto Repair. He also had been employed at the Laconia State School and Training Center, Belknap Sulloway Mills and Foley Oil.
Murray loved walking, working on small engines, family cookouts, hunting, fishing and telling jokes.

Survivors include his wife of thirty-two years, Shirley (Chamberlain) Gamblin, of Laconia; two sons, Robert Murray Gamblin and Jesse Mason Gamblin and his fiancée, Ashley Crane, all of Laconia; two daughters, Carmen Ann Blake and Jolan Ann Gamblin, both of Tennessee; nine grandchildren, eleven great grandchildren; four brothers, Phil Gamblin of Kentucky, Melvin Gamblin of Maine, Galen Gamblin of Tilton and Elwin Gamblin of Maine; six sisters, Ruth Campbell of Maine, Catherine Wilcox of Maine, Gretchen Leibfried of Florida, Judy Littlefield of Maine, June Murray of Maine and Maxine Mugford of New Hampshire and many nephews and nieces. In addition to his parents, Murray was predeceased by a daughter, Catherine Gamblin, and four siblings, Roland, Erwin, Pearl and Charlotte.

Calling hours will be held on Saturday, November 28, 2009 from 10:00-Noon in the Carriage House of the Wilkinson-Beane-Simoneau-Paquette Funeral Home, 164 Pleasant Street, Laconia, N.H.

A Funeral Service will follow the calling hours at Noon also at the Funeral Home.

Burial will follow in the family lot in Union Cemetery, Laconia, N. H.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Community Health & Hospice, Inc., 780 North Main Street, Laconia, N. H.
