Laconia-----Robert P. Mahoney, 60, of 168 Pine Street Ext, died at the Lakes Region General Hospital on Wednesday, October 9, 2002.
Mr. Mahoney was born September 13, 1942 in Boston, MA the son of Robert H. and Alice H. (Simoneau) Mahoney. He moved to Laconia, NH in 1970 from Randolph, MA.
Mr. Mahoney worked for the Town of Gilford, Highway Department for several years. He formerly was employed as a long haul truck driver for the Anderson Trucking Service in St. Cloud, Minn. and for Keen Transportation of Carlisle, PA. He had also been employed at Person's Concrete, Lakes Region Construction, and John Lyman Construction. He was a call fire fighter for the City of Laconia for many years.
Mr. Mahoney loved camping, fishing, hunting, and animals, especially his three dogs, Heidi, Tequila, and Angel. He enjoyed working on cars and trucks and enjoyed NASCAR racing. He was an avid reader.
Survivors include his wife, Kay L. (Angers) Mahoney, of Laconia; a daughter, Traci Mahoney of Laconia; a son and his significant other, Robert H. Mahoney and Kimberly Lavigne both of Laconia; four beloved grandchildren, Robert T. Mahoney, William D. Mahoney, David A. Mahoney, and Kattrina L. Lavigne all of Laconia; two aunts; one uncle, George Simoneau of Whitman, MA; and several cousins, including Donna Simoneau Peloquin of Whitman, MA.
Calling hours will be held on Saturday, October 12, 2002 from 7-9 PM in the Carriage House of the Wilkinson-Beane Funeral Home, 164 Pleasant Street, Laconia, NH.
A graveside service will be held at the family lot at Bayside Cemetery on Monday, October 14, 2002 at 1:00 PM. Rev. Sharron Lamothe, Pastor of The United Baptist Church of Lakeport, will officiate.
