Ruth E. Colson

Tilton---Ruth E. Colson 69, of 10 Prospect Street, Tilton and a long time resident of Laconia died at her home, Friday, October 22, 2004. She was the widow of Leon L. Colson who died in 1974.

Mrs. Colson was born May 5, 1935 in Wolfeboro, NH the daughter of Charles Lyndell and Hattie May (Stockbridge) Smith.

Mrs. Colson was employed at the Laconia Shoe Company for 10 years, retiring in 1974. She was a very active member of the Laconia Rod & Gun Auxiliary for many years. She was always helping people and was very dedicated in help her grandchildren and family

.Survivors include 3 sons George Colson and Peter Colson both of Laconia and Lee Colson of Tilton; a daughter Gladys Mooney of Tilton; 11 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; several nephews and nieces. She was predeceased by her father in 1968 and her mother who died August 28, 2004 and a brother George Wendall Smith and 2 sisters Louise Steele and Edith Trombly who died August 23, 2004.

Calling hours will be held Monday October 25, 2004 from 6-9 PM at the Wilkinson-Beane Funeral Home, 164 Pleasant Street, Laconia, using the Carriage House entrance.

A Graveside service will be in Pine Grove Cemetery, Gilford Tuesday at 10:00 AM.

In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the Franklin Visiting Nurse Assoc., 75 Chestnut Street, Franklin, NH 03235.

The Wilkinson-Beane Funeral Home & Cremation Services 164 Pleasant Street, Laconia, NH is in charge of the arrangements.
