Gilford-----Carroll S. Page, 95, 10 Liberty Hill Road, died at his home on Thursday, October 7, 2004.
Mr. Page was born January 5, 1909 in Putney, Vermont, the son of Willie H. & Eliza J. (Foster) Page. He was educated in the Claremont and Bradford schools and attended Simmons High School in Warner, NH. In 1945, he moved to Gilford, NH.
Mr. Page was a P.B.X Installer for the New England Telephone Co. and retired May 7, 1971 after 38 years of service. He owned and operated the Craft Shack Ceramic Studio with his wife, Eleanor, until December, 1996. He was a member of the Laconia Congregational Church.
Mr. Page was a member of St. Peters Lodge #31 of Free Masons Bradford, NH; a member of the Mt. Washington Chapter, O. E. S. #13; a life member of the Telephone Pioneers of America; a charter member of the Granite State Ceramic Association and a life member of the New England Ceramic League. He also was a volunteer for nine years at the St. Francis Home, Laconia until October, 1996.
Survivors include three children, Larry Page of Dolan Springs, Arizona, Connie Symons of Cape Town, South Africa and Betty Carrier of Laconia, NH; eight grandchildren; seven great grandchildren and nephews and nieces. He was predeceased by his wife of 63 years, Eleanor (Ormsby) Page in 1997 and by two brothers, Leo & Charles.
There will be no calling hours.
A Memorial Service will be held on Monday, October 11, 2004 at 3:00 PM at the Laconia Congregational Church, 18 Veterans Square, Laconia, NH. Rev. David Travers, Interim Senior Pastor of the Church, will officiate.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Community Health & Hospice, Inc., 780 North Main Street, Laconia, NH 03246.
