Ernest James Legendre, Jr.

Laconia-----Ernest James Legendre, Jr., 72, of O’Shea Lane, died Tuesday, October 25, 2005 at the Lakes Region General Hospital.

Mr. Legendre was born in Pittsfield on March 2, 1933, the son of Ernest James and Janet Legendre. He had resided in Laconia for the past 45 years.

Mr. Legendre was a paratrooper in the U. S. Army during the Korean War, serving with the 11th Airborne, 187th Division. He worked for Baron Machine, Aavid Engineering and Cote Brothers for many years and most recently, worked for Scotia Technology.

Mr. Legendre was an excellent bowler, having bowled a “perfect” score. He was a member of the Elks, VFW and American Legion. He had also been an avid golfer at the Laconia Country Club.

Most of all, Mr. Legendre was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather. He was married to his loving wife, Jeannine Baron Legendre, of Laconia for 52 years. Family members include his son, Michael, of Laconia; daughter, Anita, and son-in-law, Michael Lauer, of Port Charlotte, Florida; daughter, Kathleen, and son-in-law, Michael Morgan, of Laconia and daughter, Karen, and son-in-law, Roger Hawthorne, of Laconia and his beloved mother-in-law, Marie Baron, of Allenstown. His greatest joys were his grandchildren who include Danielle and Jordan Hawthorne, Zacharey Morgan, Michael Coffey/Legendre, and the Lauer kids of Florida, Lindsay, Chelsea, Mike, Tim and Chloe.

There will be no calling hours.

A Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, October 29, 2005 at 1:00 PM at St. Joseph Church, 30 Church Street, Laconia by Rev. Gary Kosmowski, Pastor of the Church.

Burial will follow in the family lot at Sacred Heart Cemetery.

Memorial donations may be made to the Monastery of the Precious Blood, 700 Bridge Street, Manchester, NH 03104.
