LACONIA Richard H. “Bud” Learned, 62, of Laconia, died Saturday, October 28, 2006, at his home after a 17 month battle with cancer.
He was born in Laconia on June 2, 1944, the son of the late Harold and Althea (Bean) Learned. He was a lifelong resident of Laconia.
Prior to his retirement, Richard worked for J. J. Nissen Bread as a salesman. He was a member of International Brotherhood of Teamsters Local 633.
He was a US Army veteran and served in Vietnam with Btry. C 3rd Bn./197th FA NH National Guard.
Richard is survived by his wife, Judith (Clairmont) Learned, a son Matthew and his wife, Ann Marie, of Bristol, a daughter Amanda Learned of Middletown, CT, and a grandson Benjamin Learned. Other family members include a brother Arthur “Skip” Learned and wife Janet of Dunbarton, a sister Joanne Luneau and husband Gary of New Boston, a step-mother Alina Learned of Berryville, VA, and three half-sisters, Nancy Haines and husband David of Hopkinton, Betty Friant and husband John of Berryville, VA, and Frieda Learned of Torrence, CA; and several nieces and nephews.
Calling hours will be held at Wilkinson-Beane Funeral Home, 164 Pleasant Street, Laconia using the Carriage House entrance, on Wednesday November 1, 2006 from 4 7 PM. A funeral service will be held at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, 2238 Parade Road, Laconia, on Thursday November 2, 2006 at 10 AM. Burial will be at a later date at the NH State Veterans Cemetery in Boscawen.
