Elwin J. Millette Laconia-----Elwin J. Millette, 81, formerly of Laconia, died at the New Hampshire Veterans Home, Tilton, on Wednesday, October 10, 2007. Mr. Millette was born August 5, 1926 in Haverhill, New Hampshire, the son of Francis and Mary Elizabeth (LaFrance) Millette. In 1943, he moved to the Lakes Region. Mr. Millette served in the U. S. Navy during WWII and the Korean War. He was a self-employed painter and retired in 1988. Mr. Millette was a member and past Deacon of the Tilton-Northfield Congregational Church. Mr. Millette was a member and past Commander of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Laconia Post #1670 and was a life member of the American Legion Wilkins-Smith Post #1. Survivors include three sons, Michael J. Millette of Gilford, Ernest G. Millette of Belmont and John E. Millette of Laconia; four daughters, Linda J. Joyal of Plattsburg, N. Y., Sharon Lee McQuarrie of Barrington, Susan Renee Jesseman of Gilford and Donna Gail Millette of Laconia; sixteen grandchildren; seven great grandchildren and several nephews and nieces. In addition to his parents, Mr. Millette was predeceased by his wife, Elaine F. (Gilman) Millette, in 1980 and by two brothers and two sisters. Calling hours will be held on Sunday, October 14, 2007 from 1:00-3:00 P.M. in the Carriage House of the Wilkinson-Beane Funeral Home, 164 Pleasant Street, Laconia, N. H. A Funeral Service will follow the calling hours at 3:00 P.M. also at the Funeral Home. Burial will be in the family lot in Union Cemetery, Laconia, N. H. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the New Hampshire Veterans Home, 139 Winter Street, Tilton, N. H. 03276.
