Madeline M. (Beane) Gladu Franklin-----Madeline M. (Beane) Gladu, 79, of 55 Harris Road, Nashua and formerly of Franklin, died at Greenbriar Terrace Healthcare on Sunday, October 25, 2009. Mrs. Gladu was born November 29, 1929 in Concord, N.H., the daughter of Francis R. and Hazel M. (Day) Beane. She was raised in New Hampshire and was employed at the Lakes Region General Hospital in Laconia for twenty years, retiring in 1986. After retiring, she moved to Florida where she had lived for twenty years before moving back to New Hampshire. Mrs. Gladu was a member of the Junior Women’s Club, the Franklin Elks Emblem Club as well as the Emblem Club of the Bradenton, Florida Elks Club. She was also a member of the Eagle Club #3566 of Valrico, Florida and a member of the Auxiliary of the Franklin V.F. W. Post #1698. Survivors include a son, Russell Longfellow, and his wife, Sue, of Edgewater, Florida; four daughters, Cynthia Gagnon and her husband, Norman, of Goffstown, Bonnie Farnham and Andy of Englewood, Florida; Jacalyn Morrill of Hampton and Cheryl Barton and her husband, John, of Gilford; twelve grandchildren, Christopher Johns, Jennifer Johns, Karen Hiester, Rhonda Drouin, Scott Heinis, Jamie Joyce, Dawn Inzitari, Peter Heinis, Tiffanyrose Brule, Justyn Shaw, Christina Buy and Nicholas Barton; twenty-one great grandchildren; a half sister, Christie Blake, of Tyler, Texas and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Gladu was predeceased by a brother, Russell Beane, by a sister, Mildred Rousseau, and by her husband, Theodore Gladu. A calling hour will be held on Wednesday, October 28, 2009 from 5:30-6:30PM at the Wilkinson-Beane-Simoneau-Paquette Funeral Home, 164 Pleasant Street, Laconia, N. H. followed by a Memorial Service at 6:30PM also at the Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Home Health & Hospice Care, 22 Prospect Street, Nashua, N.H. 03060.
