Laconia---Jane G. Lessard, RN, 77, of 14 St. Catherine Street, Lakeport, NH, died at her home on Monday, September 20, 2004. She was the widow of Rene A. Lessard who died July 29, 1969.
Mrs. Lessard was born October 30, 1926 in Plymouth, NH, the daughter of Clifford and Gertrude (Sullivan) Gingras. Mrs. Lessard was raised in Ashland, NH, where she attended the local schools and graduated from Ashland High School in 1945. She later graduated from the St. Elizabeth School of Nursing, Boston, MA, in 1949.
Mrs. Lessard moved from Ashland to Laconia over 50 years ago. She was a registered nurse for nearly 40 years and worked at the Lakes Region General Hospital, Laconia State School & Training Center and the St. Francis Home. She retired in the late 1980s.
Mrs. Lessard was a communicant of Our Lady of the Lakes Church, Lakeport, NH.
Survivors include one son, Gary A. Lessard, of Manchester, NH; three daughters, Jane R. Lessard of Laconia, NH, Lynn M. Lessard of Concord, NH and Jill C. Lessard of North Hollywood, CA; three grandchildren, Emma and John Lessard and Ryan Simoneau; two sisters, Rita Bridger of Cape Cod, MA and Dolores Flanagan of Bradenton, Florida; numerous nephews and nieces and her partner of 34 years, Norman J. Clement, of Lakeport. In addition to her parents and her husband, she was predeceased by a brother, Clifford O'Sullivan.
Calling hours will be held on Wednesday, September 22, 2004, from 6:00-9:00 PM in the Carriage House of the Wilkinson-Beane Funeral Home, 164 Pleasant Street, Laconia, NH.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Our Lady of the Lakes Church, 50 Washington Street, Lakeport, NH, on Thursday, September 23, 2004, at 11:00AM.
Burial will be in the family lot in Sacred Heart Cemetery, Laconia, NH.
