Alton, NH------Carole Margaret Bennett, 69, of Alton, NH and formerly of Freeport, Florida, died Tuesday, September 21, 2004 at the Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center, Lebanon, NH.

Carole was born to James and Margaret Kelley, September 7, 1935 in Boston, MA. Carole, known for her jolly laugh, red hair and out going personality, has touched the lives of many and will be missed by all. In the early years, she served in the U. S. Army and worked with the Blind Association. Educated as a nurse, she spent much of her life caring for others both in hospitals and in homes as a visiting nurse. She volunteered with many organizations including Cub Scouts and youth groups. She taught at several Christian schools and influenced the lives of many young people. For many years, in the summer months, her home was host to the children of the Fresh Air Fund. Carole enjoyed shopping for deals, especially antiques. Attending auctions was a special past time enjoyed with her husband.

Carole is survived by her husband, Norman, of Alton; two sons, Charles Bennett and his wife, Leslie, of Pennsylvania and Richard Bennett of Nevada; two daughters, Deborah Bennett of NH and Dawnadee Frazier and her husband, David, of Florida; four grandchildren, Erica Beane and Bennett, Isabella and Noble Frazier; two great grandchildren, Devin and Ian Beane; loving aunt, Mary Ann Wilson of Connecticut; and Saundra Allen of New York.

There will be no calling hours or funeral service. Wilkinson-Beane Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 164 Pleasant Street, Laconia, NH is in charge of the arrangements.
