Laconia-----Anna "Cathy" Catherine Gunby, 90, of 175 Blueberry Lane and formerly of Mechanic Street, died at the Genesis Eldercare Network, Laconia Center on Friday, September 17, 2004. She was the widow of Normand W. Gunby who died in 1971.
Mrs. Gunby was born November 25, 1913 in Ridgefield, N.J., the daughter of John J. and Anna Catherine (Devine) Mury. She lived in Gilford, NH for several years before moving to Laconia in 1981.
Mrs. Gunby was a former communicant of Our Lady of the Lakes Church in Lakeport and was a member of the Catholic Daughters of America.
Survivors include a son, Walter Gunby, of Laconia, NH; four grandchildren, Stephen Gunby and Julie Zimmerman both of New Jersey, and Jonathan Gunby and Matthew Gunby both of New Hampshire; one great grandchild, Stephanie Gunby of New Jersey; two nephews, Raymond Mury of New York and Albert Mury of North Carolina, and a niece Margaret Mury of Virginia.
In addition to her parents and her husband, she was predeceased by a son, Christopher P. Gunby, in 1998 and by two brothers, John Mury and Albert Mury.
A Calling Hour will be held on Tuesday September 21, 2004 from 10:00AM to 11:00AM in the Carriage House of the Wilkinson-Beane Funeral Home, 164 Pleasant Street, Laconia, NH. Following the calling hour, a Funeral Service will be held at 11:00AM also at the Funeral Home.
Burial will follow in the family lot in Bayside Cemetery, Laconia, NH
