Laconia-----Alice B. Taylor, 94, formerly of Lakeport and Gilford, died at the Merrimack County Nursing Home, Boscawen, NH on Friday, September 3, 2004. Mrs. Taylor was the widow of Irwin (Chic) L. Taylor who died in 1981.
Mrs. Taylor was born December 17, 1909 in Irasburg, VT, the daughter of Clayton and Carrie (Fisher) Baldwin. Mrs. Taylor lived most of her life in Lakeport before moving to Gilford. Mrs. Taylor was an elementary school teacher for thirty-six years and taught at Batchelder Street School, Washington Street School and Pleasant Street School in Laconia, NH. She was a member of the United Baptist Church of Lakeport, NH and a former member of the Ready for Service Club. She was also a member of the Lakes Region Retired Teachers Association.
Survivors include a son, Malcolm Taylor, of Sanbornton, NH; a daughter, Natalie Miles, of Hampton, NH; eight grandchildren; eight great grandchildren and several nephews and nieces.
There will be no calling hours.
A Graveside Service will be held on Monday, September 6, 2004 at 11:00 AM at the family lot in Union Cemetery, Laconia, NH
