Laconia-----Vera M. Smith, 100, formerly of Franklin St., Lakeport, NH and Tilton, NH, died at the St. Francis Home on Monday, September 12, 2005. She was the widow of Carl M. Smith who died in 1989.
Mrs. Smith was born August 29, 1905 in Alton, NH, the daughter of Frank W. and Linnie (Wright) Muzzey. Mrs. Smith lived in Laconia most of her life and lived in Tilton for twenty years. She graduated from Laconia High School in 1923 and was employed at Laconia Needle Mfg. Co. Inc and at Keller’s in downtown Laconia.
Mrs. Smith was a member of the Franklin Baptist Church and was a member of the Endicott Rock #25 Phythians Sisters for sixty years.
Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law, Eleanor & John Merrill, Jr. of Lakeport; one grandniece, Linnie Page of Center Sandwich, NH; one grandnephew, Bruce W. Merrill, of Laconia, NH; one great-grandnephew; two
great-grandnieces; and two great-great-grandnephews and two great-great grandnieces.
There will be no calling hours.
A Graveside Service will be held on Friday September 16, 2005 at 10:00 AM at the family lot in Bayside Cemetery, Laconia, NH.
In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the St. Francis Home Activities Fund 406 Court Street Laconia, NH 03246.
