Laconia-----Mary S. Kyle, 88, of 2 Opal Lane, died at the Lakes Region General Hospital on Friday, September 9, 2005. Mrs. Kyle was the widow of Peter E. Kyle who died in 1984.
Mrs. Kyle was born September 4, 1917 in Ithaca, New York, the daughter of Dr. Elmer S. and Genevieve (Boyle) Savage. She attended Stanford University, Stanford, California and graduated from Cornell University, Ithaca, NY in 1940.
Mrs. Kyle lived in Northfield, Vermont for thirty years before moving to Laconia, NH six years ago. Shewas a member of the Cornell University Alumni Association, Kappa Alpha Theta Sorority, Norwich University Faculty Wives, Past President of the Vermont Federation of Women, Ladies Reading Circle of Northfield, Vermont and the American Red Cross. She was an avid reader, bridge player, library volunteer and would do her New York Times crossword puzzles in ink….we will miss her dearly.
Survivors include three sons, Robert S. Kyle and his wife, Ann, of Lakeport, NH, Richard E. Kyle of Manchester, NH and James S. Kyle of Mount Shasta, CA; five grandchildren; three great grandchildren; six nephews and two nieces. In addition to her husband and her parents, she was predeceased by her three sisters, Ruth Savage, Joan Savage and Clara Savage O’Connell.
There will be no calling hours.
A Graveside Service will be held on Friday, October 14, 2005 at 11:30AM at the family lot in St. Lambert Cemetery, Laconia, NH
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Gilford Public Library, Two Belknap Mt. Road, Gilford, NH 03249 or to Cornell Plantations, One Plantations Road, Ithaca, N. Y 14850.
